History of Punk Rock Swap Meet
1978 - Los angeles, Ca
Bob Oedy was told about the Sex Pistols by his older brother who had seen them live while in college. After seeing the Dead Kennedy's live at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go, Bob's love for punk music was discovered.
1984 - Winnetka, Ca
Bob began playing guitar and writing songs and him and his band The Grim, were signed to Mystic Records. They began recording music and touring with classic punk bands around the country.
2015 - Winnetka, Ca
A local charity held a square dance with only 3 attendees--at a venue with a capacity of 660. Bob had an idea to throw a punk show and his friend Joey Rimicci suggested he combine it with a swap meet; PRSM was born.
Present Day
PRSM has hosted classic and current punk bands, had 50+ vendor partners, and continues to throw annual events that impact the community at large. It thrives on the support of family and friends who volunteer and make PRSM what it is today!
Future
Nothing awesome lasts forever, and we don't know exactly what the future holds for PRSM but in the meantime you better make sure not to miss your opportunity because this year could be the last!
